My Story
Hello and a warm welcome to Highland Koi! I'm Ayron Becherston, the Director here, and I'm genuinely excited to connect with you and share the story of Highland Koi. Our journey is fueled by a deep commitment to the well-being of koi and upholding the highest standards in our practices.
My professional journey began in 1999 in a laboratory, crafting precision lenses for valued Specsavers customers. This experience instilled in me a profound appreciation for precision and unwavering attention to detail—qualities that are now integral to the world of koi keeping.

In February 2000, I embarked on a new chapter by joining the armed forces, taking on diverse roles that shaped my commitment to meticulous attention to detail and dedication to excellence. These values now permeate every aspect of Highland Koi, ensuring impeccable service and scrupulous procedures for you, our esteemed customers.

A significant turning point in my life occurred when I lost my beloved grandmother to lung cancer. To honor her memory, I laid the foundations for my retirement and purchased my home in Arrochar. Caring for her during palliative care and finding solace in tending to a natural garden pond inspired me to immerse myself in the world of koi.

Devoting my naval gratuity and pension to acquiring comprehensive knowledge of koi health and care, I aimed not only for personal enrichment but also to assist fellow enthusiasts. Motivated by this passion and a desire to fill a gap in Scotland's koi-keeping community, I committed to establishing Scotland as a central hub for koi keeping. Our mission at Highland Koi is clear: to advocate for koi well-being and nurture a vibrant community of enthusiasts.
