Greetings and a hearty welcome to Highland Koi. I'm Ayron Becherston, the Director of Highland Koi, and I'm genuinely thrilled to share my journey and our steadfast commitment to the well-being of koi and the highest standards of company practices with you.

My career took root in 1999 within a laboratory, where I fastidiously crafted precision lenses for valued Specsavers customers. This experience instilled in me a profound appreciation for precision and unwavering attention to detail, qualities that have become paramount in the realm of koi keeping.

​

In February 2000, I embarked on a new chapter in my life by enlisting in the armed forces. During my service, I undertook a diverse range of roles, including those of a Military Police Officer, a Forensics Crime Scene Manager, a Fraud Investigator, an Establishment Security Officer, a Flight Deck Officer in operational areas overseeing bustling flight decks during live and intense flying operations, a Human Relations Support Officer for distressed employees and their families, and even a Command Advisor for legal, anti-piracy, military, and disciplinary matters.

My time in the military instilled in me a profound commitment to meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering dedication to excellence. These qualities now permeate every facet of Highland Koi, ensuring impeccable service and scrupulous procedures for our esteemed customers.

A deeply significant personal turning point in my life occurred when I lost my beloved grandmother to lung cancer. In my commitment to ensure her contentment, I took steps to lay the foundations for my retirement from my lifelong career and purchased my home in Arrochar, a place of profound significance to her. I had the privilege of caring for her during her palliative care, and being by her side when she passed away left a profound impact on me.

 

Upon returning home, I found solace in tending to the natural garden pond on my property. This experience illuminated the remarkable positive influence of koi carp on mental well-being.

Fueled by my passion, I devoted my naval gratuity and pension to immerse myself in the world of koi, acquiring comprehensive knowledge of their health and care. My ambition extended beyond personal enrichment; I aspired to assist fellow enthusiasts and share the joy of koi keeping.

Inspired by this passion and driven to address a gap within Scotland's koi-keeping community, I made a solemn commitment to establish Scotland as a central hub for koi keeping in the United Kingdom. At Highland Koi, our mission is crystal clear: to advocate for koi well-being and nurture a vibrant community of koi enthusiasts.
